Inova Establishes Wound Healing Center at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital

Inova Serves Patients in Western Fairfax County By Opening Second Wound Healing Center Closer to Home

Fairfax, VA – (January 26, 2009) — Persons who suffer from diabetes, peripheral vascular disease or other health issues often develop wounds that have difficulty healing. Until now, patients in the western portion of Fairfax County had to drive many miles to seek treatment for their non-healing wounds at the Dorothea R. Fisher Wound Healing Center located at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital.

On January 22nd Inova will officially open the doors of a second Wound Healing Center at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital to better serve patients in western Fairfax County.

For nearly 10 years, the Dorothea R. Fisher Wound Healing Center Inova at Mount Vernon Hospital has offered treatment to sufferers with 90% of patients healed, making their non-healing wounds a thing of the past.

“A number of our patients who seek comprehensive wound care drive many miles just to receive treatment in our center at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital,” said Eric Desman, MD, medical director, Dorothea R.
