InovaCares Clinic for Children has been serving Fairfax County from its main location in Falls Church since 1993. The clinic had more than 20,000 visits in 2008 and the number of new patients is increasing every year.

“In 2008 we saw more than 1,800 new patients,” said Geoff Delizzio, Director, InovaCares Clinic for Children, Inova Health System. “After seeing many families travel to the Falls Church clinic from the Reston and Sterling areas, Inova recognized the need for more resources in this part of the county. The location of this new clinic will give families better access to healthcare closer to home.”

The newly renovated space was designed to be child-friendly and includes 6 exam rooms. Inova is expecting 4,100 visits in the first year. The clinic provides two main types of patient care: well-child care, which includes recommended infant check-ups, physicals and annual examinations; and sick visits, which includes treating ill and chronically ill children.

The clinics are part of Inova’s “safety net” services, which Inova provides to low-income and uninsured patients as part of its commitment to community health.
