Inova Loudoun Hospital Master Plan Approved by Board of Supervisors

Leesburg, VA — December 9, 2015 — Today the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to approve Inova Loudoun Hospital’s Proffer Statement, “Master Plan,” for expansion at the main campus, 44045 Riverside Parkway, Lansdowne.

Prior to the Board of Supervisors approval, at the November 5, 2015 Work Session, the Planning Commission voted 8-0-1 (Ryan absent) to recommend approval of the application, “Master Plan,” to the Board of Supervisors subject to the Proffer Statement. County staff supports expanding the hospital use and the related applications as the proposal is consistent with the Health Care Facilities and Keynote Employment Policies of the Revised General Plan.

Generally, the Board approved:

  • consolidation of four contiguous hospital owned parcels creating one campus with
    88 acres
  • special exception hospital uses up to 1,238,000 square feet including the current hospital use 318,000, the new north tower and associated support spaces planned at 512,0000, and a future south tower at 408,000.
  • sets forth planned parking including the new garage, required proffers and other details associated with the project.

Construction has begun on the first phase of the Master Plan, which includes a new road, new rear parking lot, storm water management facilities and a new entrance. This phase is expected to be completed by mid-year 2016.
