Inova Loudoun Hospital Announces $32 Million Dollar Redevelopment of Leesburg Campus

Community Hospital Reaffirms Promise to Loudoun Community

Leesburg, VA – (July 15, 2011) — Inova Loudoun Hospital is proud to announce plans for a $32 million redevelopment project at the Leesburg Campus, at 224 A Cornwall Street in Leesburg, VA.

The renovation plans include construction of a new state-of-the-art emergency department including private rooms and trauma rooms, increasing the emergency department, along with the lab and radiology units, to 12,823 square feet from 9,539 square feet. A new lab, outpatient imaging enhancements including an additional CT scanner and a new brick façade on the 1974 building are all included in the renovation. Other improvements include materials management, patient transport, security and central plant upgrades.

Continuing our commitment to other non-profit healthcare organizations in the community, both the Loudoun Community Free Clinic and Loudoun Child Advocacy Center will remain a part of the campus during and after the renovation. The construction will provide both organizations with upgraded space.

The phase one of the project is expected to be completed in 2012.

“Inova Loudoun Hospital is mindful of the rich history associated with this site and the original promise made to care for the health and well being of Loudoun County. As we invest $32 million in renovation and construction to meet the emergency and outpatient needs of the county, we continue to fulfill our promise,” said Randy Kelley, CEO, Inova Loudoun Hospital.

Phase two of the project will begin in late 2012 with completion in 2013. This phase will include renovation of Loudoun Adult Medical Psychiatric Services (LAMPS), a 22-bed adult inpatient behavioral medicine unit as well as surface parking at the east wing.
