Advanced techniques from the area’s most experienced orthopedic experts
Alexandria VA (September 17, 2013) – The new Inova Shoulder Replacement Program offers coordinated care for patients whose arthritis, injuries or other issues require a total shoulder joint replacement. Inova’s team of orthopedic surgeons has performed the most shoulder replacement surgeries in Northern Virginia using advanced techniques as well as state-of-the-art technology.
Our surgeons, physician’s assistants, nurses, and physical therapists educate the patient before, during, and after the shoulder replacement surgery has taken place. A well performed procedure can help improve motion, strength, and function, so patients are able to do the activities they love and enjoy to do.
“The number of shoulder replacement procedures has increased dramatically over the last decade,” said Jeffrey Lovallo, MD, Surgical Director of the Shoulder Replacement Program. “From the avid golfer to the weekend warrior, we can assess and treat each patient’s specific need and help them get back to doing what they love.”
There are various types of shoulder replacements, such as total shoulder replacement, shoulder resurfacing, and reverse total shoulder replacement; which are all offered at Inova.
