Children’s Emergency Room at Inova Loudoun Hospital Hosting Focus Groups for Parents/Caregivers of Autism and Sensory Processing Disorder Children

Leesburg, VA – August 12, 2016 – The Children’s Emergency Room at Inova Loudoun Hospital is the only pediatric ER in Loudoun County and one of only two in the Northern Virginia area. In an effort to continue meeting the needs of our youngest patients Inova Loudoun Hospital is exploring the possibility of becoming an autism and sensory processing disorder friendly emergency room.

Inova Loudoun is hosting two focus groups for parents/caregivers of children who have autism or a sensory processing disorder. The focus groups will give parents/caregivers and opportunity to provide suggestions and insight for creating an environment that meets the needs of these patients.

Focus group meetings will be held on Thursday, August 18 at 3 p.m. and Saturday, August 20 at 5:30 p.m. The meetings will be at Inova Loudoun Hospital, 44045 Riverside Parkway, Leesburg (South Lobby Entrance). Free valet parking is available. To RSVP, or to provide written suggestions, please contact Allyson Halverson, Child Life Specialist, at Allyson.halverson@inova.org.
